Paul Maggio and Marisa Wiewall looked to seek second careers in agriculture when Paul decided to leave a career in commodity futures trading and brokerage for commodity farming.  Through their search for a sustainable farming model they decided to develop a grass fed beef farm and purchased a farm in Burlington, WI near were Paul grew up.  They practice managed intensive rotational grazing with their organic beef herd.  They graze around 100 head of mixed-breed beef cattle on their 140 acre farm.  They utilized NRCS EQIP cost share to seed pastures and build their fencing.  Paul and Marisa developed a herd of mixed-breed English genetic beef cattle.  They graze cow/calf/yearling trios and direct market their beef.  They have recently added pastured pork and poultry and a bed & breakfast to their farm.
